Ishant Sharma regrets exclusion from World Cup squad

Medium-pacer Ishant Sharma today said he was extremely distressed about not being included in India's World Cup squad.

Talking to reporters after inaugurating the master franchise showroom of Reebok in North India, Ishant, who is the company's brand ambassador, said, he was extremely distressed about not being part of the Indian XI in the World Cup, especially when the prestigious event was being held in the region.

He expressed satisfaction over the Indian team's performance in the World Cup so far. "Our team is a strong contender for the World Cup and I pray for its success."

Regardng the performance of the Indian bowlers in the World Cup, he said it depended on the condition of the pitch and the circumstances.

"Our bowlers are completely capable of bowling under pressure but sometimes the circumstances are not favourable."

Ishant added he had achieved considerable improvement in his bowling and was ready to face any challenge in the future.
