Moderate quake recorded in Andaman Islands region

An earthquake of moderate intensity, measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, was recorded in the Andaman Islands region, this morning.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the quake, with its epicentre at latitude 12.9 degrees North and longitude 92.5 degrees East, occurred at a depth of 10 km at 5.46 am today.
