Mother Teresa

The 100th birth anniversary of Mother Teresa, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, was observed today. The Albanian-born Catholic nun had worked tirelessly in the service of the poor, sick, orphaned and destitute in Kolkata and other places for nearly half a century. A special Mass was held today at the Kolkata headquarters of the Missionaries of Charity, the order of nuns which Mother Teresa founded six decades ago.
