Delhi Metro services affected by snag in a train's pantograph

Delhi Metro's services on the Central Secretariat-Jahangirpuri corridor were affected for close to 100 minutes today when a train developed a technical sang related to its pantograph, the equipment which draws power form the overhead electrification line.


A spokesman for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said the train was approaching the platform at Rajiv Chowk station from Jahangirpuri when the snag occured at 11.32 am.


The affected train was removed from services at 1.11 pm with the help of another train and about 500 passengers travelling by it were deboarded at Rajiv Chowk. Normal services were then esumed on the corridor, he said.


During this period, trains were run in short loop between Jahangirpuri and Kashmere Gate. Two trains were run in short loop between Jahangirpuri and Rajiv Chowk as soon as train having defect cleared Rajiv Chowk.


To clear the Raksha Bandhan rush, two additional trains were run on the corridor today, the spokesman added.
