President contributes Rs 100,000 for Leh cloudburst victims

President Pratibha Patil has contributed Rs 100,000 from her salary to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for the rehabilitation of the poor and needy persons affected by the August 6 cloudburst in Leh region of Jammu and Kashmir.

The cloudburst, which led to flash floods and mudslides, claimed about 180 lives and injured about 400 people. It also caused widespread damage to public and private property.
