Trial run for Internet facility conducted on Mumbai-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express

The Railways conducted a trial run for provision of Internet facility on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express some time ago.


"A satellite based system with Wi-Fi distribution in coaches was tried on experimental basis and was found to be technically feasible," Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa informed the Lok Sabha today in a written reply to a question.


He said a pilot project for Internet facility in three rakes of the Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani Express had been considered and included in the Railway Budget 2010-11.
