Sports Ministry aid for Padma Chorol to attend ice hockey camp in Finland

Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports M S Gill has sanctioned an ex-gratia assistance of Rs 70,000 from the National Welfare Fund for Sportspersons to Padma Chorol who has been chosen for an Ice Hockey Leadership Camp for Women in Finland.


Chorol is a student of the Moravian Mission School in Leh. She has been selected to attend the camp that is being organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation and the Sports Institute of Finland at Vierumaki.


While the Institute will bear her cost of lodging and boarding as well as local travel and training, the Ministry's assistance will help meet the cost of her air travel to Finland, visa fees and insurance, an official press release added.
