Minor quake felt in Nicobar Islands

An earthquake of slight intensity, measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale, shook the Nicobar Islands this morning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
However, there were no reports of any loss of life or property, sources said.
The tremor, felt at 0813 hours IST, had its epicentre at 8.6 degrees North latitude and 92.2 degrees East longitude, the IMD said, adding that it occurred at a depth of 26 km.
