Minor quake shakes Eastern Kashmir

An earthquake of slight intensity, measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale, jolted Eastern Kashmir tonight, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.


There were no immedate reports about any damage to life or property.


The tremor, felt at 2215 hours IST, had its epicentre at 34.4 degrees North latitude and 75.8 degrees East longitude, the IMD said, adding that it occurred at a depth of 38 km.
