Prabhat Singh joins GAIL (India) as Director (Marketing)

The public sector gas distribution major GAIL (India) Limited today said Mr Prabhat Singh had taken over as Director (Marketing) of the company.

Mr Singh has a degree in civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur and around 29 years of experience in the hydrocarbons industry.

Before taking up his current assignment, he headed the Upstream Business Development and the Strategy Divisions in British Gas since April 2006.

During his earlier stint in GAIL, he headed its Exploration and Production Department as General Manager. He made a major contribution in the execution of world's longest exclusive LPG pipeline project from Jamnagar to Loni.

He was also instrumental in ushering in of the "Open Access Common Carrier Principle" in India which brought in a paradigm shift and contributed manifold in transitioning the pipeline transportation industry of the country into the matured industry that it is today.

Before joining GAIL (India) Limited and serving the company for almost 20 years, Mr Singh had also served public sector consultancy firm Engineers India Limited (EIL) and power major NTPC Limited.
