Justice Kakru named Chief Justice of AP High Court

The President has appointed as Mr Justice Nisar Ahmad Kakru, Judge of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court, as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
An official press release said the appointment would be with effect from the date he assumed charge of his office.
A separate announcement said the President had, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, transferred Ms Justice Nirmal Yadav, Judge of the Punjab & Haryana High Court, as a Judge of the Uttarakhand High Court. She has been directed to assume charge of her office on or before February 24.
Mr Justice Ravi Vijaykumar Malimath and Ms Justice Bangalore Venkataramiah Nagarathna, Additional Judges of the Karnataka High Court, have been appointed as Judges of that High Court, in that order of seniority.
The President has also appointed Mr T.Mathivanan, Mr Ardhanariswamy Arumughaswamy and Ms K.B.K.Vasuki to be Additional Judges of the Madras High Court, in that order of seniority, for a period of two years with effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
Mr Birendra Prasad Verma, and Mr Dinesh Kumar Singh have been appointed as Additional Judges of the Patna High Court, in that order of seniority for a period of two years, the release added.
