Another cold and foggy morning in Delhi

People in Delhi and many other parts of northern India woke up to another cold and foggy morning today, with visibility less than 50 metres in the early hours.
Like yesterday, the dense fog led to slowing down of road traffic, affected the running of trains in the region and disrupted flight schedules from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in the capital.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature in the past 24 hours was 18.2 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was 8 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees above normal.
The IMD forecast for today said there would be thick fog in the morning and mainly clear sky afterwards. It said the maximum and minimum temperatures today would be around 18 and 9 degrees Celsius.
The IMD forecast said the maximum and minimum temperatures would be 18 and 9 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 18 and 8 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
