Airlines carry 33.15 lakh passengers in April
Scheduled airlines in India carried a total of 33.15 lakh passengers in April this year, as comlpared to 31.60 lakh passengers in the previous month, official figures released here today said.
Of these, private carrier Kingfisher accounted for 8.61 lakh passengers, followed by national carrier Air India (5.83 lakh), Jet Airways (5.52 lakh), Indigo (4.54 lakh), Spice Jet (3.87 lakh), Jet Lite (2.44 lakh), Go Air (1.45 lakh) and Paramount (0.75 lakh).
The Vijay Mallya-owned Kingfihser had a 26 % share of the traffic, while Air India had 17.6 %, Jet Airways 16.7 %, Indigo 13.7 %, Spice Jet 11.7%, Jet Lite 7.4 %, Go Air 4.4 % and Paramount 2.3 %.
The seat factors were: Kingfisher 64.2 %, Air India 59.9 %, Jet Airways 65.0 %, Indigo 72.1 %, %Spice Jet 68.0 %, Jet Lite 68.7 %, Go Air 72.0 % and Paramount 88.5 %.
