H S Brahma takes over as new Power Secretary

New Delhi, May 12

Mr H. S. Brahma, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1975 batch (Andhra Pradesh cadre) today assumed charge as Secretary, Ministry of Power,

He has succeeded Mr V S Sampath, who has been appointed as an Election Commissioner.

Mr Brahma was earlier Special Secretary, National Disaster Management Authority in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

He has held various assignments in different sectors in the Government of India and the Government of Andhra Pradesh, including energy sector, an official statement added.
